Mancala game .. Catherine took this.. Nathan's Turkey
Nathan's TurkeySo now for the play:
Catherine: Pilgrim lady-in charge of reading the thanksgiving poem and plucking the turkey
Taylor: Turkey- in charge of being a turkey
Kaleb, Joseph, Nathan- Indians
Kamie: Indian Princess
The kids made up this play.. here is the short version..
The Indians are sitting around the camp fire talking about going on the turkey hunt.
The Indians and the Indian Princess go and hide to wait for the turkey.
The Turkey enters .. saying "Gobble gobble gobble.... gobble gobble gobble.."
The Indians spring in and attack the turkey.. the turkey screams "GOBBBBBBBBBLLLLLLLLLE!"
The oldest Indian takes the turkey to the Pilgrim lady to be plucked and ready to eat.
The Oldest Indian then carries the turkey to the table where a pray of Thanksgiving is said and the turkey is carved up. THE END..
(Ruth's note: I must say this is the greatest thanksgiving play I have ever seen.. such great acting and comedy all in one! The kids made thier own costumes, Catherine made Taylors turkey outfit which even included real turkey feathers in the back! They had a great time.. I am hoping I can get them to preform it one more time so I can video tape it!)
