History: Today we learned about Sparta and Athens, and the differences between the two cities. Sparta- warriors and Athens- Lawmakers, educated, and democratic. We did some role play after I read from my history book. Then the kids got a piece of paper and folded it in half. One side was Sparta, one side was Athens.. they had to draw a picture under each and tell me which city they would rather live in. While they were drawing I read "The Librarian Who Measured the Earth" (GREAT BOOK! Thanks M!)..

Bible: our verse for the week:
A---- A soft answer turns away wrath. Proverbs 15:1 (last weeks)
B---- Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the children of God. Matt. 5:9.. We did role play on this verse too.. practice being "mean" to each other and then a friend would come in and be the peacemaker.. We then sang songs and the kids LOVED : "I got the joy" ..
English.. Cat and K are still working on the dictionary skills and getting better and better.
Spelling.. Cat and K took a spelling "test" .. with the words they didnt know going on to next weeks lesson..
Phonics and Reading: Most of the kids played on the computer today as well.. They just love Jumpstart!
