The Knowledge Box

I am happy to announce I have started yet another blog. The Knowledge Box will be a blog dedicated to our homeschool. I will post pictures of the kids art, writing and math etc. It will basically serve as my electronic bulletin board! Of course I must tell you where I got my title.. It is actually a synonym for School. Of course our knowledge box has NO lid and we are never boxed in! I have included a few pictures to get us started. :) I look forward to sharing the kids work and if you want you can learn right along with us. Latin, Spanish, Art, History, Bible, Manners!, Math, Science, .. you name it.. we've boxed it in! :)

ok.. can I say I have a soft spot in my heart for books? At this moment we have 150 items checked out of the library! With schooling 6 kids that really isnt that many. And including the books, dvds and other fun reading I checkout it averages out to only 20 or so per person! Actually the children have between 10 to 12 and the rest I use for schooling them, History, Science, and Reading etc. So.. what is the solution when you have sooo many books checked out at one time? How do I keep up? .. heres your answer.. our own mini library!

Cat made a fun animal out of playdough.. I love the creativity!

And this summer we got to hear an author and artist at the museum. David Macaulay, a caldecott winner and is really well know for "how things work" books. Here he is drawing Desperate Dan, a character from one of his books.

I am really looking forward to this year!

150 books??? Holy Toledo Batman! If I had 150 books checked out from the library, I would end up with a very hefty library fine, I just know it.

I'm looking forward to learning from you guys on this blog!
