Standard Deviants, India, and the NCCIL

Things are trucking along here ... The kids have been enjoying the mild weather with lots of capture the flag and freeze tag games.. they have also created some interesting tents with odds and ends that are in out back yard...

Our bookwork is flying along.. I was happy to find a DVD for English for Kaleb and Catherine.. it is by Standard Deviants (http://www.standarddeviants.com) and is really good..
Catherine started her Latin for Children last night and LOVED it... she also started reading "The Secret Garden" to Taylor at rest time. M loaned us some cdrom games for the kids to play and they LOVE them.. ! ..

In history we are out of Rome and into Ancient India.. learning about the Ganges River.. etc..
Science.. we are on Planet Earth.. Mostly talking about how God created the perfect place for us to live.. it has been a really good section in the book!

Our Book IT program is going great.. Catherine is finished with her 6 hours and just adding more.. Joseph is almost done and the rest are not far behind.. The book it program is through weekly reader and sixflags.. the kids earn six flag tickets for 6 hours of reading.. .. Last year we went to Fiesta Texas and had a BLAST!..

Other highlights from our days:
The kids made walking Dragons .. like they do in China.. two and three kids to each blanket.
Joseph made a HUGE sword out of a stake and old Christmas tree stand.. (I will post photos of that later)..
We made cards for the kids at Crossplains and went to the NCCIL.. At the NCCIL we enjoyed seeing the work of Denise Fleming If you havent seen her books.. .. they are GREAT! You can go to Denise Fleming.com to see here work and books. Check them out at your library!
